Lionheart

A Crest done for a fine family. Contrary to popular belief and crest was not awarded to a family but to an individual for being a shining example of humanity. And the crest was then created for that individual by the one awarding it to them. A family would benifit greatly from having this person as part of their lineage ... thus the idea of the family crest. Granted the concept has changed to mimic the popular conception but the original idea was to show respect to an exceptional person.
